BOOKKEEPER POSITION AVAILABLE

Prima Group of Companies is looking for an individual to perform the role of Bookkeeper. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing full-cycle bookkeeping including preparing monthly financial statements, while exercising strong internal controls.

This role will work closely with the business owner in support of the finances of the organization and its three companies.

Responsibilities

The employee’s position as Bookkeeper is responsible for overseeing the Prima Group of Companies financial data and compliance. Specific duties include:

 

  • Managing accounts payable, ensuring all vendors are paid in a timely manner and all expenses are entered into the accounting system.

  • Managing accounts receivable, ensuring all client payments are entered into the accounting system as received, and following up on any outstanding balances.

  • Regular processing of payroll, updated employee records, and entering all payroll transaction into the accounting system.

  • Regular processing of employee expenses and payments.

  • Completing all bank reconciliation reports monthly and following up on any discrepancies.

  • Filing all required government remittances and returns before the due dates.

  • Producing regular financial reports for managements review.

  • Coordinating year-end review engagement with external accounting firm and providing any support they require.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary and/or relevant experience (minimum 5 years) required

  • Practical experience in bookkeeping and preparing basic financial statements

  • Experience in use of Simply Accounting software
